Being a Canadian immigrant myself, I was planning on joining the “Day without Immigrants Protest” but there was a memo posted at work stating all policies and disciplinary actions regarding unapproved absences from work would be enforced.
Then I thought about boycotting with the rest of the immigrants, but I got hungry, so I shopped at Savemart for dinner on my way home from work. From the looks of the Walmart parking lot, there appeared to be a lot of Hispanic immigrants sticking to their guns and not shopping today.
