Last night was the 2nd week of youth group for me. I took some pictures so that you all can see how much fun the kids and I are having.

Who would of thought Jr. High kids would have such a great sense of humor?

Last night, the kids asked me to play dodge ball with them. For some reason,
I was the only one that was getting hit by the ball.

Note to self- Ask parents to not let their kids come to youth group with rope
and duct-tape.

The kids seem to be responding well to me.

Tonight was my first night with the youth group. All I have to say is "God help me please". There were 24 kids, 19 of them were junior high students. Four of the five high school kids that came tonight were freshman. Since they (the freshmen) have only been in high school for approximately a month, they are still rich in the Jr. High mentality and immaturity.

They are all great, beautiful, rambunctious, fun kids that just don’t SHUT UP. My prayer is for God to send help, and to send it fast. I don’t want this to be one of those tests of faith, where I rediscover that when I am weak, He is strong or I can do all things through Christ Jesus. That is all great and true, but really I just want help. Plus I can’t afford to lose anymore of my hair.

Really though, I had fun tonight, it was just hard to get through a lesson with the unfocused and hyper kids. I guess I will have to find away to deliver a thought or message in away that captivates and holds their attention.

And my prayer is that God will send workers, as the harvest is plentiful, but the workers or in my case worker is few.

PS. MGC, the kids loved the pizza, thanks for covering that! Oh, and your kid was one of the few good and well behaved kids, who weren’t bouncing off of walls.

Sometimes, grey, boring, dull, nostalgic days are beautiful and peaceful in their own way.

This is a picture from the cables of half-dome. It is not an easy climb as the picture suggests. Notice how far the ground er, rock is behind me? The cables are a 600-foot climb up to the top of half-dome. You most definitely need gloves for such a feat. I took mine off in order to take my camera off my belt and pass it to Clint who took the picture.

On top of Half Dome, standing victorious!

What is it about a full moon that entices the human spirit to come outside?
I am sitting here in front of my computer with a glass of wine. The window on my left is open and I can clearly see the moon, which is full and bright. It’s shining like a beacon and is calling for me to leave my home for a night out.

It whispers to me. "Come on out, I will light your way tonight."
"It will be fun, you don’t know what you’re missing."

Maybe so moon- maybe so. But my friends have moved away and besides I am a family man.
No adventures tonight my friend. It’s a blockbuster night and there is bacon and eggs at 7 am tomorrow.

So, the hiking expedition to the top of Half-Dome, in Yosemite, California starts in less than 19 hours. I will post pictures and stories when I return.
